What is your role at Adido?
Client Engagement Director, so I have a keen eye for seeking out new clients that have challenge that we can solve. Or offer advice to current clients that need help when working out how to reach their strategic long-term goals.
What does a typical day involve?
Lots of talking!
What do you enjoy most about working at Adido?
The Adido team are consummate professionals and artisans of their field. I’ve worked in agencies for a long time…and I can honestly say that I’ve never come across a bunch of people that are all so knowledgeable in their area of expertise. And I think it’s because they all genuinely care about what they do.
Where were you born? What brought you to Adido?
I’m a Devonshire lass, born in Exeter but brought up in the New Forest. You’ll notice the country twang in my accent.
Digital is the marketing discipline which is most widespread. It’s the foundation of any marketing strategy and therefore the thing that deserves the most attention in any organisation, it doesn’t matter if you’re FTSE500 or a one-man band. Yet. It’s still an enigma to so many, that I felt compelled to join the Adido crusade in promoting digital marketing best practice.
What has been your career highlight? (Or your proudest moment at Adido?)
Handing out free New Forest ice cream at our fantastically successful digital summit.
Tell us something about you that your colleagues don’t know yet!
I’m a secret Chris Rea fan.
What is your favourite tool to help with your job?
Coffee and tea, without it my throat swells and my talking stops.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
Where in the world would you most like to visit and why?
I’m a huge traveller…well I was when I was younger. Unfortunately, the kids have slowed me down a bit. But still up there for me is the Galapagos Islands, and actually I’m pleased that I haven’t been yet because it’s one that wouldn’t be the same without the kids – so hopefully I’ll take them one day.
Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
I can’t sleep on the door side of the bed. So, I don’t have a side…left or right…my side is the side furthest away from the door.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spag bol. Don’t even need to think about it.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
If I won the lottery I would hire one of the Strictly professional dancers to teach me to be a dancing legend. Then, I would shimmy, slide and spin everywhere for ever more.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d love to not have to ever go to the lavatory ever again. It would be an amazing super power – saves time, no problems at festivals or camping and I would be completely impervious to the Andrex puppy.
When was the last time you were nervous?
Doing Go Ape with my son last week…it was scarier than I thought and when I got up to the platform I asked to go first so I didn’t have to watch and give myself a chance to pull out.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Live in the moment.
What are you afraid of?
Missing out on life
What is your favourite film?
Billy Elliot or Dirty Dancing…notice the theme here
What’s your party trick?
My big toes are double jointed
What is something you learned in the last week?
That we don’t know how many Whale Sharks there are in the world or how and where they breed.
