MODX is like any other modern CMS’ - simple to use and easy to maintain! With great WYSIWYG functionality out of the box, you get to manage any image, content, link or video within the editor and with the simple site tree navigation, you can get to the content you want intuitively.
Content blocks
Whilst this isn’t core to MODX, it’s something we add to almost every website we build. Content blocks allow you to build content once and then reuse it numerous times across the website. This means making larger updates are simple and easy to rollout, saving time and stress!

The MODX CMS in more detail
Since the first being released in 2004, MODX has been at the forefront of CMS development. It’s won numerous awards during its time for ease of use, speed and security. We often find that in the world of CMS’, it’s never an easy choice for clients and since choosing a CMS is usually a decision to make every 3-5 years, there are a lot of website managers who haven’t heard of MODX which sometimes makes it a less appealing choice.
But look at the facts. The MODX CMS has only had 11 security issues in over 15 years compared to over 1,000 for better known CMS’ like Wordpress or Drupal. We’ve heard too many stories over the years of Wordpress hacks or broken add-ons which have led to websites being hacked and causing huge issues. With MODX, security is at the heart of the CMS as all code is contained in one place and means that malicious code doesn’t ever get a chance to run.
Not only that, thanks to better creative freedom that comes with MODX, websites can be built faster and with more interactivity meaning that SEO and UX improvements can be seen from the start.

Like all good CMS’, what you get out of the box often isn’t going to be enough to meet your needs. Whilst MODX allows our developers to build almost any piece of functionality using the MODX framework and bespoke development using PHP, sometimes it’s quicker and easier to use someone else's code.
MODX offers additional features through the MODX Extras store.
MODX Extras gives an website manager the opportunity to add extra functionality by simply installing new blocks into the MODX set up. All of these extras run within the CMS rather than being stuck on the ‘outside’ as happens with say, Wordpress, which means that the code is far more secure and robust.
Due to our commitment to MODX we’ve even built our own extras for MODX in the past which have been used by website owners across the globe from the USA to Russia to the UK and everywhere in between! Our Workflow and Preview extras have been a great success and we hope to add more in due course.
