What does a typical day involve?
As a strategist I get the opportunity to explore audience insights, channel planning and website strategy for a lot of Adido’s clients, looking for ways to grow their business and improve their efficiencies.
I am a data nerd, so I love spending hours in Google Analytics and excel, interrogating the data, spotting trends, hypothesising and ensuring that the strategies I propose are based on strong evidence.
I also get involved in quite a bit of new business strategy development - the new business team like to keep me busy!
What do you enjoy most about working at Adido?
I really enjoy being given the responsibility and freedom to make decisions and help shape the future of the agency. Having worked in digital for nearly 10 years, I have seen and done a lot across many aspects of digital marketing. I have also experienced life in a few agencies in and around the local area (incl. London) so I have a good idea of what can and can’t work in an agency environment. The culture the directors have encouraged at Adido is in part due to their “one of us” mentality (no hierarchy /no egos) which means that my experience, skill and expertise is extremely valued and they encourage me to make a difference. I definitely have a voice in the agency which I enjoy.
What has been your career highlight so far?
In my first year joining the agency my work on Postgoldforcash.com’s PPC account was shortlisted for a UK Search Award. Whilst I don’t do as much day-to-day implementation any more I am still very proud that I could make an immediate difference to the agency and my client so soon after joining the team.
Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
I love an afternoon nap. Almost like clockwork on a Sunday afternoon I’ll enjoy a sofa snooze.
What is your favourite tool to help with your job?
Excel! I couldn’t live without it even though some within the agency are trying to convert me to Google docs #willneverhappen
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I believe it was to become a lawyer, but after I realised I would have to stand up in front of a lot of people to argue my case and persuade I think it didn’t take me long to change my mind.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chocolate. Enough said. Thankfully I play sport so I’m not the size of a house!
When was the last time you were nervous?
Saturday morning on the hockey pitch, It’s a nervous excitement but I like to win so I’m always uber competitive & nervous before the whistle goes.
Slogan for life
Don’t be afraid to change. You may lose something good but you may gain something better.
At the weekend I love…
...to play hockey.
What is your favourite film?
Tough one… it’s really close between Shawshank Redemption and Gladiator.
