What is your role at Adido?
Events Assistant! This includes planning events, making travel and accommodation arrangements, customer service, and a lot of brainstorming around ways to organise fun for the office etc.
What does a typical day involve?
My typical day focuses predominantly on brainstorming creative event ideas and then working out the nitty gritty details in order to make them a reality.
I also drink far too many cups of coffee and have quite a few laughs with my co-workers!
Where were you born? What brought you to Adido?
I was born and raised in New Hampshire, USA. After training in leading relief teams and a lot of travelling, I started my studies at Arts University Bournemouth in Creative Events Management. My course required me to complete a 6-week work placement and Adido brought me on board. After my placement ended they decided to keep me around. :)
What’s your favourite thing about Bournemouth?
There are so many things about Bournemouth that I love! I find that it is one of those places where you can always discover something new, whether it be a little coffee shop, a bizarre statue, an arts fair etc.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
A queen or some kind of world leader. I skipped that whole “I wanna be a princess” stage and went straight to the more demanding job roles.
Describe yourself in three words?
Persistent. Brave. Joyful.
When was the last time you were nervous?
I was shopping in Waitrose last night while carrying a Lidl bag and got some intense glares from the staff…
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow can worry about itself.
What song do you sing in the shower?
I tend to sing non-stop once I’m home, but I think my housemates would say my main hits would have to be “Love on Top” by Beyonce, “I Will Always Love You” Whitney Houston version, and anything Taylor Swift.
What’s your party trick?
I love being the one hosting the parties and ramping up the fun, so I guess my party trick is knowing how to help people have a really great time!
At the weekend I love…
Travelling if I can, spending time with close friends, and trying out new dinner recipes if I’ve got the time available, and going to as many events as possible.
