For example, we have created intranets and extranets for a lot of our clients. This means that as well as the traditional front end website, we create internal intranets and content requiring logins to give extra security and peace of mind to our clients.

What is an extranet?

An extranet looks like an ordinary website, but it will have content on there that can only be viewed by a chosen few. This is why the site needs expert attention to ensure this sensitive content is both properly protected from casual surfers and easy to access by the people who need to see it.

Why would I need an extranet?

Having an extranet means that you can share vital information within your business without having to send or email it. Simply give your recipient a login and the address of the private page and your information can be shared quickly and easily.

Who have we created intranets and extranets for?

One client we have done this for (one of many!) is BCHA, a Bournemouth-based housing body that aims to get the homeless off the streets and into a safe home environment.

BCHA needed an intranet as well as a public facing end external site. They also needed an extranet so that their private content was accessible via a password outside their IP range.
