History

Adido was born way back in 2003 when Andy, Ross, Alex and Gary met at Uni and decided they would start a company of their very own. The four founding directors of the company can still be found in the office on a daily basis, heading up new and vibrant design and marketing projects, drinking copious amounts of tea and helping to shape the company’s future.

We’ve provided you with a general timeline of the events leading up to Adido’s creation and everything that has happened since. We’ll leave the 2003 haircuts our founding directors had to your imagination!

Adido has grown enormously since 2003 and now has offices in Dorset, Berkshire and Surrey serving over 90 clients! Our story is unique and one which gets added to each year, so why not take a look at our Timeline.
 

Timeline:

1999: September - Four teenagers named Andy, Alex, Gary and Ross decide to sample the delights of Bournemouth University and start a degree in Computing. Little did they know how their futures would intertwine!   2003: May - After much talking and sharing of ideas, the four friends meet in a pub (starting a tradition that would last until the present day!) and decide they will form a company.   2003: July - They finish their dissertations and get work together to see if they can get on well as colleagues.   2003: July - After a lot (maybe even too much) of drinking collaboration, they decide to start the company and eventually settle on the name Adido – which means “ambassador” in Portuguese. Great choice!

• 2004: The four friends build up their contacts and work part time to help fund the development of their first ever product: the now legendary and ever improving Dub3 content management system!
   
• 2004: Adido move into their first office – the Enterprise Pavilion on the Bournemouth University campus.
   
• 2005: They win the business for Breeze Volkswagen, the largest VW retailer in Dorset. Not bad going guys!

• 2005: They hire their first employee, Matt Northam, after he got a first class degree in Interactive Design.
   
• 2006: They take on extra developers Vytas and Dave as well as marketing and admin executive Kirsty. However internal communications become a major problem and they end up having to shout at each other through walls due to having to have two offices!
   
• 2006: August - To improve all the company to grow further (and to preserve our throats) Adido moves to larger office space at Bristol & West House right in the heart of Bournemouth. Alex Tucker also joins the company as part of the Sales team.
   
• 2007: The Company now has ten staff and wins some key clients: Colbornes, Playforce, Primera and Dorset Probation Service.
   
• 2008: July - Adido celebrate their 5th Birthday with lots of balloons and drinks in a Bournemouth Hotel. They also welcome Paul, Natalie, Steve and Jamie to the team! We get our first household name client – easyJet! Go Adido!
   
• 2008: September - England doesn’t get into the European Championships. We know it’s not company relevant, but we felt it was the biggest disappointment of the year!
   
• 2009: March - Adido moves to its current office in Dean Park Crescent, Bournemouth. The novelty of having their own meeting room and fridge doesn’t wear off for quite some time. They also welcome Mischa, Nikki, Thom, Chris, Sarah and Katie to the team.  Adido work with even more exciting businesses and help existing clients to grow even more!
   
• 2010: August - Adido wins even more new and repeat business and we sadly say goodbye to Sarah and Katie as they go back to university. We still miss you guys. The office is temporarily quieter until Becki, Jo and Annabel join the team (the peace and quiet was nice while it lasted!).
   
• 2010: December - Our growth continues and we find ourselves working with 65 clients a month!
   
• 2011: March - We welcome Joel, Kherrin, Dennis and Andy to the team and win the online marketing for Postgoldforcash.com – our biggest client to date!

• 2011: June - It's a baby boom in the office! With four members of the team expecting new arrivals in the coming year.
   
• 2011: July - Adido have a serious makeover and complete re-brand which coincides with our 8th Birthday! We launch our brand new website and change our Logo - and obviously had a party to celebrate!

• 2011: September - Emma Aston joins to head up our new sister agency Adido Communications, we are now able to offer full synergy between online and offline communications. Katie also returns to us after finishing her degree.
   
• 2011: November - Adido hold their 'Do Digital Better in 2012' Seminar, which has a great turn out with over 100 Business owners and Marketing personnel attending. Visit our Do Digital Better site to find out where our next event will be held.

• 2011: November - Adido wins 'Best Local Search Campaign' at the UK SEARCH AWARDS 2011, with judges including the directors of Google and Yahoo! We then go on to win Dorset Business Awards 'Entrepreneur of the Year'! It's one of our proudest moments. It's great to receive industry recognition for the outstanding work we do for our clients. 

• 2011: December - We also have now outgrown our offices again and move to a larger space just one floor up in Dean Park Crescent, we now have three meeting rooms, and lots of new furniture for our exciting boardroom. Check out our Moving Day Video!

• 2012: January - We welcome our third Andrew, and our third Alex to the team, it gets very confusing when taking telephone messages. 

• 2012: January - We launch the Adido Academy, offering seminars, training workshops and bespoke packages to businesses and organisations in the area. After nine years of experience it's great to be hitting the road and talking at a variety of events and seminars to share our knowledge with others. 

• 2012: February - We welcome Tara and Mark to the team, making us an ever growing number of 27 digital marketing experts, working with 90 clients a month and over 300 websites created to date! 

2012: June  - We welcome Phil, Fran and Suzana to the Marketing team.
